Random Static is pleased to announce that we have acquired the rights to publish novels set in Lawrence Miles’ Faction Paradox universe. Each book in the series is a standalone science fiction novel taking place in the Spiral Politic – the parts of the history of the universe that matter. The Faction Paradox range tells the stories of those affected by the “War in Heaven”, a conflict ranging across all of time and space challenging the hegemony of the Great Houses, the ancient architects of history itself.

Faction Paradox is a renegade voodoo cult that embraces the taboos of the Great Houses and consorts with the “lesser species”. They’re happy to take advantage of the War for their own ends, as long as they can avoid being wiped out in the crossfire, and assuming the universe can withstand the strain.

We’ll be relaunching the Faction Paradox novel range with Newtons Sleep by Daniel O’Mahony. Daniel was a major contributor to Faction Paradox: The Book of the War, and his other works include the acclaimed novella Cabinet of Light. Newtons Sleep is scheduled for publication in late 2007; more details will be announced over the next few months.
